About Gaia

“The heart that breaks open can contain the whole universe.”
― Joanna Macy

Who is Gaia Goldhill?

Gaia is a board certified Yoga and Movement Therapist (c-IAYT) that specializes in moving trauma somatically and unlocking the wisdom-body.

She works with physical, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual manifestations of pain and meets her clients where they are at in understanding its source and unique expression.

Gaia is also an ayurvedic potpartum doula. She has been trained in traditional modes of balancing and grounding the postpartum body through nutrition, herbs, and movement.

Gaia teaches day-long workshops on Joana Macy’s The Work that Reconnects. She uses her deep love of the wild spaces and its inhabitants to fuel this potent grief work.

Gaia tries her best to live in reciprocity with life amongst the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Gaia’s Unique Approach to Therapy

Gaia works with both the physical and subtle body. She is inspired by yoga philosophy, Jungian psychology (analytical), poly-vagal theory, epigenetics, somatic experiencing, dance therapy, physical therapy, dream-time, shamanism, deep ecology, the work that reconnects, re-wilding, nature connection, enneagram, archetypal analysis, shadow work, etc.

She draws from these tools and uses the guidance and wisdom of the individual in front of her to co-create something special and unique with each client. Sometimes a session may look like physical therapy, sometimes it may look like psychotherapy; usually it is a dynamic mixture of both with a sprinkle of something wild and something magical.
