Somatic, Movement, and Yoga Therapy
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is an integrative and holistic approach to healing. Through one-on-one sessions, personalized to the individuals' needs, it bridges the worlds of yoga and healthcare.
In a session we may work on the physical, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual aspects of being. This can look like exercises to improve range of motion, balance, and coordination; it can also look like assistance in overcoming negative patterns of thought and behavior.
A yoga therapist, trained in multi-level assessment, can meet you where you are at.
What is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic Therapy is a body-centered approcah to the psychotherapeutic process. It helps connect the individual’s mind to their body while doing the hard work of healing traumas and other psychological issues. Rather than only using speech to talk about our troubles, we work with how a physical body may hold on to the trauma; through tension, posture, GI issues, pain, etc.
